A warning from 1996 on the ChristChurch fault system ....
In July 1996, TV3 aired an Inside New Zealand documentary called Earthquakes. The documentary revealed concern about the fatal flaws beneath Christchurch: fault lines, spongy soil and liquefaction.
This is so frustrating. I was correlating the previous X Class flare with Feb17th revolution in Libya (of course inspired by wider arab revolt as well) which happened two days before Feb17th. The last X Class happened on March 9th and I almost posted something in another forum along the lines of "what will happen two days after this March 9th X Class" ? You know what stopped me ? A member on that forum had already bitten my head off for daring to make a few connections between these things. Why have some people become SO pig headed about this kind of thing ? Some people need to shed a lot of anger. Now I feel so frustrated that many people are injured or have lost their lives unnecessarily really (not that my post could have stopped anything). There should have been a HIGH ALERT worldwide soon as those X Flares went off. At least the Scientists mentioned previously in the thread are continuing with their research.
Its this kind of event that makes me realise how seriously locked down the Scientific debate is about electric universe/plasma/natural events in wider society. It seems healthy enough within the Scientific community, but we need to be more forceful and have self belief to KNOW that we are right in the face of the bullies that shout down this kind of debate. That is not acceptable when the Universe is changing around us in this electrical way at the moment.

Science desperately needs to start taking this information seriously.
Our thoughts are with the Japanese people during this terrible catastrophe.

The problem with linking earthquakes to Solar flare activity is correlating one with the other. There are Earthquakes of a variety of magnitudes happening constantly throughout the Earth. I tried correlating the two phenomena during the last Solar maximum when the Earth was being hit two or three times a month and there always seemed to be an Earthquake shortly after. This was an illusion however as there were several earthquakes between the periods when the Earth wasn't being struck by plasma from the Sun. My personal belief is that increased Solar activity will cause increased Earthquake activity throughout the planet whether or not the Earth is hit directly by Solar plasma. Increased Solar activity means increased potential energy within the Heliosphere which will have an effect on the whole planet. But this doesn't allow us to predict where an Earthquake might strike or how much energy will be released by any Earthquake.

Hmmm. Well that's your personal belief. I have to take into account the huge levels of controversy that have been out there for decades that have stopped even a hint of properly correlating space events with planet based events in the human world. It has simply been utter heresy up till now to make these connections, albeit less so in the Science world. Of course any kind of prediction of natural phenomena of this nature is going to be like weather prediction. Its not always an exact Science. But once upon a time we had no forecasting of storms or dangerous weather events, at least not on a wide scale. Science will get there with Earthquake prediction as well one day. The sooner the better with increasing populations and what does seem to be a more dynamic relationship between space weather and planetary events.

This YouTube channel is very interesting with regard Solar Activity/Earth Activity http://www.youtube.com/SolarWatcher he seems to think along the sames lines as Ken Ring, the Earth's Sphere and Sun's Sphere are twin (for lack of a better word at the moment) images of each other. It would take lots of work to prove such a connection but it's not so difficult to do a bit of research on the web and see said correlation unveil itself to you, in fact you can get a free app called 3D Sun http://3dsun.org/ for your iPhone or Android phone which is a great source of information on solar conditions and you can see direct correlations in a 3D Sphere of the Sun with Earth.

Interesting to note that there was a huge whirpool off the east coast of Japan - a rotating magnetic field creates vortices (whirlpools) in water.

I saw the footage of the whirlpool but did not make this connection. It would be interesting to see if there were any atmospheric events (Earthquake lights) above the epicentre of the Earthquake.

Very interesting, according to the BBC and others the whirlpool is very close to the epicenter of the earthquake, which was at a depth of 20 kilometers and resulted in the counter clockwise rotating whirlpool we see. Quake has been upgraded to 9.0 magnitude.
Just thinking out loud, is it possible a massive increase in voltage (due to the X Class Flare) caused a deep earth double layer to collapse creating the earthquake and resultant tsunami, could the whirlpool be created by a cc rotating magnetic field deep under the ocean floor at the point of the DL collapse?

As a kayaker I have encountered numerous small whirlpools caused by the tide flowing through small, irregular islets.
However, a prosaic explanation of the huge Japan earthquake whirlpool might be outgoing tsunami water meeting incoming the tide.
