Moses fled to escape prosecution for killing an Egyptian who was beating a slave.1,2,3 The person doing the beating might have been Akhenaten's younger sister (i.e., the mummy designated as KV35YL), who we know to have been murdered, and who would have been on the short list of people who murder would have necessited the flight of the pharaoh's second-in-charge.
