Try to refrain from using LaTeX color directives. QDL automatically alters the principle color of the text to match the user's text color, which might not be black. If you use colors that suit the site style that you have chosen, they might not look as good for another user, or they might even be invisible.
You can also do inline or block math, using the MathJax syntax. For inline formulas, the delimiter is the double backtick, while block formulas can be done with double dollars for delimiters.
