Data Type
QDL can store information in a variety of formats.

The default data type in QDL is HTML (in the mark-up group). HTML supports hyperlinks, which QDL calls "sub-posts" (i.e., posts that are children of the parent post). QDL then provides a lot of flexibility in the behavior of these sub-posts.

To create data in any of the other formats:
  1. Navigate to the location in QDL where you want to post something new (such as in your Sandbox).
  2. Click the Action Menu icon (), and select the New Inside option ().
  3. Enter a title and click Submit.
  4. Click the Action Menu icon (), and next to the Metadata option (), click edit.
  5. Open the Data Type group, and select the desired format.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Click the Action Menu icon (), and select one of the Edit options ().
  8. Enter the information.
  9. Click Submit.
You can also change an existing HTML post to a non-HTML data type, though QDL will not convert the existing contents into the other format. Changing from non-HTML back to HTML is easier, since QDL displays all information as HTML (even if the underlying format is different), so the HTML can be copied, and then pasted into the editor, after changing the data type to HTML.

To change the data type of an existing post:
  1. Click the Action Menu icon (), and next to the Metadata option (), click edit.
  2. Open the Data Type group, and select the desired format.
  3. Click Submit.
