New Posts
always inherit a prototype Using prototypes is the recommended way of managing rights (and other properties). When adding a sub-post to a post that you already own, if the parent post is set to get its rights from a prototype, the child post will inherit this setting. But frequently, sub-posts are created under parents that are not using prototypes, meaning that assigning prototypes has to be done after-the-fact, which is tedious. Select this option to designate the parent post as the prototype. Then at least all of the children will be using something to set their rights.
prefer single spacing When creating new posts, if this is checked, the default line break will be a single space, not a double space.

Editing
show rights on title line This displays who has rights to the post being edited — it's a nice to have this reminder until you get comfortable with the rights system.
store previous versions This sets the default action when saving edits to an existing post.
show version comments Selecting this makes it possible to enter comments when submitting a post. See Comments for more info.
audio alerts during chats Make a sound when somebody else posts into a chat box.
templates Select one or more posts that have contents that you intend to paste into other posts on a regular basis, using the Template feature (Template) in the full editor. See Templates for more info.
