Ralph Juergens & Earle Milton: Anode Sun
Ralph Juergens in 1949.
Ralph Juergens extended Bruce's work, from saying that the solar observations are best explained in electrical terms, to saying that electricity is actually the primary energy source.1 So while Bruce never debated the "fusion furnace" model that emerged during his lifetime, Juergens did. He maintained that the Sun is positively charged, that the heliosphere is negatively charged, and that the surface of the Sun sustains an arc discharge. He said that the granules on the surface are anode tufts.
