Inherited Shared Creatorship
© Charles Chandler

Right now, the current user is the sole creator of any new page. But this makes it difficult to set up workgroup folders, where anybody in the group can edit anything in the folder, which would be useful sometimes.

I'm thinking that perhaps if the creator is a group, and if the current user is a member of that group, on creating a new page, the group would be creatorship.

Would that generate unexpected behaviors? Would people be able to mis-use this, as a way of getting creatorship that others wouldn't expect? Actually, I think not. Because in order to do this, he would have to grant creatorship to HIS page, and people would know it, because the Action icon would be red.

Another way to approach this issue would simply be to have an "inherit creator rights" checkbox on the editor forms.
