CLC: planets are retired stars, but they don't form by magnetic pinches.
Planets condense for the same reason as stars: a "like-likes-like" body force in a dusty plasma.
Rotation within stellar systems is due to the movement of the matter through an external magnetic field, which generates a Lorentz force.
If gravity is sufficient, charges are separated into CFDLs.
If other bodies are close enough to generate tidal forces, there will be electric currents across the boundaries of the double-layers.
An internal heat source under a frozen crust can result in volcanism.
If gravity is sufficient, charges are separated into CFDLs.
