I'm in the process of getting acquainted with two new operating systems: Vista and Leopard. And I'm finding that Microsoft and Apple still haven't gotten it right. So I figured that maybe nobody ever wrote down how an operating system should work, and maybe that's the whole problem. :) So here goes...
