Title:		Sudden disappearance and reappearance of solar filaments by heating and cooling

Abstract:		The sudden disappearance of filaments due to their heating is studied. The observations were performed at Meudon with a three-wavelength heliograph. It is shown that the thermal disappearance involves an increase in plasma density.
