The search for all parents in the DisplayOrphans routine currently only finds all of the parents that the current user can see. Then it gets a list of children from the parents. Then, if the current user is the creator of a page that isn't in the list of children, it is considered to be an orphan.

But I am seeing cases where I created a page, and I no longer have a link to it in anything that I can see, but somebody else does. Because I can't see a parent, it is an orphan to me. But somebody else has a link to it. So the Action menu gives it behaviors appropriate for a non-orphan page.

resolution Works as designed. The definition of an orphan is that it is a page that I created, but that I no longer have linked anywhere that I can see. Other people might have a link to it. As such, the Orphan item in the Action Menu is still enabled, so that I can break all of those connections if I want to. And the Parents item still shows a non-zero number of parents, even if the parents page says that all of them are hidden from me. And the Delete action will ask me how to handle the links that other people have, including the option to give away creatorship instead of deleting the page. Nevertheless, if I created a page and I don't have a link to it, then it's an orphan to me. Otherwise, I'd never be able to find pages that I have created and that I no longer have a link to.
