19 Laban had gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel stole her father's household gods.

Rachel stealing her dad's gods has some sort of significance, but I don't know what it is. Was it that she was bringing the worship of Hindu gods to Canaan? Or did she just snag a few statues out of the temple on her way out, planning to hock them somewhere on the road the Shechem?
