Hypotheses frequently contain conjecture passed off as fact.
Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a fact that is there because it was observed, or because it was expected to be there, and the author inserted it (perhaps expecting to come back later to support it). And sometimes, the flaw in an hypothesis is masked by the facts that weren't. So it would be useful if critics could label statements as fact vs. hypothesis.
