Organize the information by topic instead of time.

Topical organization eliminates flooding by requiring that each idea occur in only one place. And following a line of reasoning doesn't require reading through a bunch of off-topic material — related material appears together, and off-topic material appears somewhere else, where it is on-topic.

 

Use a flowcharting system.

Use outlining, with indentation to designate categorization.

Use topic modeling to find the concepts in documents.
