If as the ancients say it was "born" out of Jupiter can this be reconciled in any way with reality, say its the core of Jupiter? the red spot, or the thunderbolts depicted from its plasma "fights" with earth and mars. Could gas giants expel matter? Even the bible reports the effects of a cosmic body around the exodus and a repeating 52 year orbit for a while after.
I don't know that it was "born" within human memory, but if it was, there definitely isn't any mechanical model for this — just the basic idea that there could have been a collision that produced remnants. The biggest problem with that is explaining the orbit. Had there been a collision with Jupiter, ejecta could have condensed into a planet, which could have gone into its own orbit. But that should have been a highly elliptical orbit. To get a nearly circular orbit where Venus is now would have taken two collisions — the first to split it off of Jupiter, and the second as it neared its present orbit, to redirect it into a circular path around the Sun. This is certainly not impossible. And I gave up calculating odds on astronomical events when I first realized how improbable the Earth really is. So there is no sense in ruling something out because the odds are one in a gazillion. But if you want to talk about physically possible models, you have to take such factors into account.
