4. Galaxies
© Lloyd

A galaxy is a large collection of star systems, ranging from thousands to billions.

There are 5 kinds of galaxies: irregular, lenticular, elliptical, spiral and ring.

Nearly 200 billion galaxies exist in the known universe, ranging from about 3 thousand to 300 thousand lightyears in diameter each.

Galaxies are locally about 2 million lightyears apart.
