Some have argued that God plays a dual role in this system, first as the sum totality of the Universe, and second, as the personification of good behavior. They have said that this system would be metaphysically cleaner if God was only defined in one way, and suggested that there be 3 entities: God, Satan, and Nature, as the good, the bad, and the indifferent.
We maintain that natural law and good behavior are the same entity. So having God as the law-giver and as the good example is not a contradiction, even if it is, in fact, a dual role. It is true that the conception of God is a condensation of nature, and then Satan is the counterpoint to God. So one can say that there is really just one over-arching entity (i.e., nature), and then the process that produces our conceptions of God and of Satan. But the conceptions are still within the realm of natural law. Hence these do not separate out into distinct entities in the metaphysical sense.
