Preparation
  • Style
    • Go to and select the appropriate colors.
  • Layout
    • Do whatever you want with the layout.
    • As you'll surely remove items such as Logout and Settings from the navbar (since these won't even work for anonymous users), when you log into the account to make changes, you need another way of getting to these items. So you should bookmark them before you delete them from the navbar, and use the bookmarks to navigate. The bookmarks will work for you if you're logged in, while any pages associated with the hosted account outside of the Sandbox will never be visible to an anonymous user.
    • Any links in the navbar to sub-pages within your hosted account should include the "hostAcct" query string (see below).
  • Content
    • Go to your Sandbox and author the content you want people to see. Anything outside of your Sandbox that you want them to see must be linked into your Sandbox.
    • Anonymous users don't get disclosure widgets that can be used to expand/collapse sub-pages. Hence you should design your pages so that they don't rely on such mechanisms. In other words, you should author pages that look and act like "normal" webpages.
    • You can include just one item in the sandbox, and set it to always display its contents, and never show its title. This way, that's all you see. And because it's something other than the sandbox, you can set the rights to it, such that everybody can see it, and so that you can edit it from another account. Because once you remove all of the other items from the navbar, it's tough to navigate.
