Conclusions

The combined Meteorite from Ceres / Expanding Earth / Shock Dynamics Hypothesis seems to be the most comprehensive.

 

A large fragment from the break-up of Ceres impacted the Earth.

 

Then the Earth expanded, causing one big rift, and leaving one big super-continent.

 

That super-continent was then hit by another impacter that split it apart.
