As I guess you figured out by now, the hierarchical structure of QDL allows you to add a post anywhere in the hierarchy, but you have to choose which level you're adding into. Sometimes it gets confusing, so there is an option to hide the buttons. Then the only way to add an article is to use the gear icon.
