You should be able to click the gear icon for the Catastrophism folder, and select the New: Inside option, to create a sub-folder directly under the Catastrophism folder. In other words, the typical way of creating something new in QDL is to click the button at the end, but you can also click the gear icon at the beginning of the containing folder to get more options, including the ability to create a new sub-post.
