CLC: Impacts & Cracks
This hypothesis maintains that rilles are cracks that resulted from impacts when the crust was first forming. Craters in a row are formed by an object that broke up just before impact. A row of craters along a rille is evidence of an object that broke up before impact, and that cracked the crust.
