- A nearby supernova helps dusty plasmas collapse.
- The dusty plasmas do not collapse concentrically — they form into filaments, and stars sometimes form like beads on a string along these filaments.
- Gravity from detectable matter accounts for only 1/5 ~ 1/20 of the force necessary to get dusty plasmas to collapse into stars.
